An overview of TMB Digital
Morning / AM
To start the show, Richard Pymm, Group Sales Director
, gave a fresh COVID friendly welcome and introduction to the brand new online event, describing how we at Troy are embracing the “new normal”…for the time being at least. 
He gave a brief overview of the show’s exciting content and format, highlighting the key messages and segments for members to look out for and gave details of how they can get in touch during the day, via the online chat. Veteran BBC presenter, David Fitzgerald, was introduced as co-cost to assist with interviewing the various, guest and in-house, business experts and presenting a variety of segments throughout the show.

  • Live Auction took place

    Rather than products being sold to the highest bidder, this fantastic live auction had a tooling twist.  Showcasing a range of products from various Troy Suppliers, members were offered tiered quantity discounts, to be based on total collaborative orders made by the end of the show #strongertogether
    During the Auctions we sold;
    – 500 Metabo BS12 Basic Drill Drives
    – 300 Draper Socket Sets
    – 50 Beta Vacs
    – 200 Draper Lights
    Auction sales updates were announced throughout the day *All reaching the maximum quantity at the lowest price so really successful segment!*

  • EZ-base Product Data Solution presentation with Q&A session
    Delivered by Business Expert Gareth Thomas, Managing Director at EZ-base.
    Gareth introduced the brand new sophisticated, secure product data solution from the new joint venture between Troy UK and EZ-base.  He explained how this processes suppliers’ product data for use throughout the business, and how it becomes a key part of any e-commerce operation. He described how access to this product data can assist members to trade online effectively, with ease, saving valuable time and money, and is an important step for the further development of digital channels and digital information in your industrial and engineering supplies business.  EZ-base will engage the suppliers to join the platform and provide this industry a set of rich product information and content, ready for businesses to trade confidently online, for example, via the new Troy Commerce platform, or to improve existing catalogues or to simply update back office data improving business efficiency.

  • Trade 2 Trade presentation
    Delivered by Richard Pymm, Group Sales Director and Troy Host
    Richard officially kicked off the launch of the brand new online member-to-member trading site – Trade 2 Trade.  This included an operational demonstration of the website to demonstrate the various functions and ease of use.  This platform allows members to buy, request and shift surplus stock, exclusively and anonymously, in an e-Bay style format.  Competitive pricing is encouraged for successful sales, with distribution managed via the Trojan Warehouse at the Barnstaple site.

  •  TMB Innovation Awards 2020
    Delivered by Richard Pymm, Group Sales Director at Troy & Host
    Troy is keen to drive technological advancement, research and design, and year-on-year is adding more value and recognition to this already beneficial accolade.  As well as receiving the award and being recognised within the group, suppliers of the winning product gain an enhanced promotional campaign.  This includes a Troy designed advertorial within Troy News, a prominent banner feature on the Troy website and a full press release for upload on Troy’s social media channels and to be sent to various tooling industry related media outlets.
    As this is a TMB award, it is open exclusively to Troy Suppliers. In order to enter, their product must have been released no earlier than the last quarter of the previous year and have unique selling features. A vast array of products has been entered over the years, including power tools, abrasives, PPE and more.  Each supplier gave a short presentation which was decided by a diverse panel of judges, with expertise in the tooling sector.

EARLY INDICATIONS REVEAL THAT TMB DIGITAL 2020 IS A RESOUNDING SUCCESS…

The first ever TMB Digital show was a great success with viewing figures totalling over 300 throughout the day.  TMB Digital is a sister event to the live TMB Show at Silverstone, to enhance the overall TMB experience and offer members even more opportunities to do business.

Member feedback surveys have been sent out to ensure future productions of TMB Digital are the best they can be.  If you haven’t already, please take the time to complete this short feedback form as member input is vital.
