Makita Intoduce New 10.8V And 18V Rotary Hammer Drill

  • New 10.8v model achieves 1.0 Joules of impact energy and up to 4,900 ipm
  • Very compact 18v model will drill 17mm in concrete
  • 2-mode operation, rotary and rotary hammer

Makita has added two new SDS+ rotary hammer drills to the ever expanding inventory of cordless tools. The new 10.8v model will generate 4,900 impacts per minute whilst the beefy 18v model will punch a 17mm hole into concrete.

The new Makita HR140D rotary hammer drill further extends the increasingly popular 10.8v cordless range of tools.  This new 14mm CXT machine generates 1 joule of impact energy and up to 4,900 ipm, all from a small and compact machine that weighs just 2.6kg.

The HR140D will run up to 850 rpm, while two operation modes can be selected by the rotary switch on the body housing to run in rotary only for pure drilling, or with hammer assistance for heavy duty drilling into masonry.

This new model has capacity to punch a 14mm hole into concrete; 10mm into steel and 13mm into timber.  Drilling speed is controlled by the variable speed trigger which is comfortably positioned on the vibration absorbing grip handle assembly, which cuts drilling vibration transmission to protect the operator.

This lightweight and compact yet powerful rotary hammer drill is available in body only format, or with two 10.8v batteries in a Makpac case.

The new Makita DHR171 rotary hammer drill features the high performance Brushless motor which will run the drill up to 680 rpm, and with 1.2 Joules of energy coupled with up to 4,800 ipm, will comfortably punch a 17mm hole into concrete; 10mm into steel and 13mm into wood. In line with current Makita innovation, this new 18v drill is virtually identical in size to the 10.8v models, so it is ideally suited for use in limited access areas.

Both models share the advanced features of electric brake, variable speed trigger and constant speed control; while the 18v model also benefits from the vibration absorption body assembly that protects the operator when using this powerful and rugged rotary hammer in all site operations.

Weighing in at 2.8kg this model is available as body only, or with 2 x 18v batteries and charger packaged in a convenient Makpac case.
